Flying in business class from SFO to HKG

My experience before

I was flying twice in business class before. We went from San Francisco to San Diego and from San Francisco to Chicago. Both flights were with United Airlines. To compare to this big flight with Cathay Pacific, from San Francisco (SFO) to Hong Kong (HKG) it was totally different.

Flying with Cathay Pacific

At first I have to tell our take off was middle of the night at 1 am so that was really nice waiting at the airport on the business lounge. In San Francisco it was as elegant as in Hong Kong. After a long flight it was so good to take a shower and eat something nice before we boarded the flight towards Denpasar (Bali).

The flight from San Francisco to Hong Kong was a really long one, 15 hours one way and 11.5 hours back. So it was very important to have a good "bed" for the flight.We had an awesome experience. The flight attendants were very nice, the seats were big and comfortable and movable to the flat position.

Cathay Pacific's new business class

One the way to there we were on a Boeing 777 airplane, on the way back a Boeing 747. The first airplane  was very modern featuring Cathay's new business class seats which has bigger seats and their position is better that in the old business class configuration. We asked for a basinette for my younger daughter (who is 13 months old now), but we didn't use it. That was a little bit too small and she didn't sleep so deeply, I couldn't move her easily. But I found empty seats so she had her own big bed.

The food was very good. As usual on a long-haul flight I asked for a gluten free meal, but my husband and daughter chose from the regular menu. We took turns with my husband so we could eat normally without holding a baby in one arm. 

On business class at Cathay Pacific you receive an amenity kit with all the important small things such as a small tooth paste, tooth brush, lip protector, body cream and night cream, ear plugs, socks, for the men shoehorn.

We got 3 tickets, so after arrive home now we have 6 amenity kits. :)
