Hong Kong

After a 5 hour flight we arrived in Hong Kong. It is an amazing, modern, pulsating city. We really enjoyed these   5 days. The Hotel Conrad, where we stayed, was luxurious and elegant. We use our Hilton points to pay for the room. Because we are on the Hilton Gold status, we could stay in a room with a better view and we had free internet and breakfast. We were on the 57th floor. Can you imagine how the view to the harbor was from there? 

On the 59th floor was an executive lounge where we could drink a cocktail in the evening and enjoy some appetizers as well. 

About town

It is a very modern city. It was awesome that we could go from the airport to the hotel without any problem. We didn't have to lift our luggage, because there were no stairs between the airport and the fast train that brought us to the hotel's shuttle. 

The weather was hot and humid as in Bali before. The public transportation was very good in this huge city. There were lots of subways and all of them were very clean. 

We walked a lot on the streets. The view was very nice from the Avenue of the Stars.

In the Nan Lian Garden there were beautiful trees. Across the street we found a very interesting Chi Lin Nunnery.

Of course, we had to stop at a playground when our kids were tired. Sophie made new friends as usual. 

For me that was very interesting how the modern life is interwoven with the old Chinese culture. When we arrived at the market place it was like being in the old times.

We spent one day in Macau . To go there we used the regular ferry. It was a very interesting city. I felt like being in somewhere southern in Europe.

At the end of our trip we enjoyed the colorful, beautiful a fireworks. The fireworks were not because it was our last evening, just because it was a national holiday in China. Actually this gorgeous view was seen from our hotel room.
